Who we are
World Soccer Planner is an independent app for planning and following the 2026 Men's World Cup. We are not affiliated with FIFA or any national football association.
This policy covers the World Soccer Planner mobile app (iOS and Android) and the website at worldsoccerplanner.com.

What we collect
Here is a complete list of the data we handle, where it goes, and why.
| Data | Where it lives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Match preferences Interested / Going status |
Your device only | So the app remembers your saved matches between sessions. Never transmitted to our servers. |
| App settings Pro unlock status, display preferences |
Your device only | To remember your preferences. Pro status is validated locally via your App Store or Google Play receipt. |
| Crash reports Stack traces, app version, device OS version |
Sentry (sentry.io) | To detect and fix errors. Reports contain no personal information and no user-identifiable data. Sentry's privacy policy: sentry.io/privacy |
| Anonymous usage events Which screens are viewed, which features are used, app version, device type, OS version, timezone |
PostHog (posthog.com) | To understand how the app is used so we can improve it. Events are linked to a random anonymous device ID — not to your name, email, or any account. PostHog's privacy policy: posthog.com/privacy |
| IAP receipt validation Proof of purchase from Apple / Google |
Apple / Google | To confirm Pro unlock. Receipt validation happens entirely within Apple's and Google's systems. We never see your payment details. |
What we don't collect
We want to be explicit about what we do not do, because the app market is full of apps that do these things without telling you.
| We do not collect | Details |
|---|---|
| Name, email, or any account information | The app has no account system. You don't log in. We don't know who you are. |
| Location data | We never request location permission. The app does not know where you are. |
| Contacts, photos, or any other device data | The app requests no device permissions beyond what is needed to display content and process in-app purchases. |
| Behavioral advertising data | We run no ads of any kind. We have no relationship with ad networks or data brokers. |
| Cross-app or cross-site tracking | We do not track you across other apps or websites. Our analytics are scoped to this app only and do not use your Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA). |
| Payment information | All purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We never handle or store payment card details. |
Your on-device data
When you mark a match as Interested or Going, or save your preferences, that data is written to your device's local storage using Apple's or Google's standard on-device storage APIs. It stays on your phone.
We cannot see it, access it, or back it up remotely. This also means:
If you delete the app, your saved matches and settings are deleted. We have no way to restore them because we never had them.
If you switch phones, your preferences don't transfer automatically. Pro unlock can be restored via "Restore Purchases" in the app (Apple or Google validates the original receipt). Your saved matches would need to be re-selected.
It's simpler, more private, and faster. We don't need a user database, login system, or cloud sync infrastructure. Your match planning is yours — it never leaves your phone.
Affiliate links
The app displays links to third-party services for tickets, hotels, and merchandise. These are labeled "Partner" in the app interface.
When you tap one of these links, you are taken to that company's website or app. At that point, their privacy policy applies to you, not ours. We do not control what those services collect.
We may receive a commission if you complete a purchase after following one of these links. This commission is based on the transaction — we do not share your name, email, location, or any personal information with affiliate partners.
The affiliate relationships we currently have are:
| Partner | What they're for | Their privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| StubHub | Match tickets | stubhub.com/privacy |
| Expedia | Flights and hotels near match venues | expedia.com/privacy |
| Hotels.com | Hotel search near match venues | hotels.com/privacy |
| Vrbo | Vacation rentals near host cities | vrbo.com/privacy |
| Viator | Activities and tours near venues | viator.com/privacy |
| Fanatics | Official team merchandise | fanatics.com/privacy |
In-app purchases
The Pro unlock is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple (on iOS) or Google (on Android) through their standard payment infrastructure. We never see or handle your payment details — not your card number, billing address, or any financial information.
Apple's and Google's handling of payment data is governed by their own privacy policies:
| Platform | Privacy policy |
|---|---|
| Apple (App Store) | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| Google (Play Store) | policies.google.com/privacy |
To restore a previous Pro purchase, use the Restore Purchases option in the app's settings. This re-validates your purchase with Apple or Google — no account with us is required.
Analytics & crash reporting
We use two third-party tools to keep the app working well. Neither tool receives your name, email address, or any information that directly identifies you.
Crash reporting — Sentry (sentry.io)
When the app encounters an unexpected error, Sentry captures a report containing the error type, a stack trace, the app version, and your device's OS version. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Reports contain no personal information.
Usage analytics — PostHog (posthog.com)
We use PostHog to understand which parts of the app are used and how. Our configuration disables session recording, autocapture, and pageview tracking. The events we send cover things like which screen was viewed, which features were tapped, and whether a Pro purchase attempt succeeded or failed.
PostHog automatically attaches a small set of technical properties to each event: a randomly generated anonymous device identifier (a UUID stored in the app's local storage — not linked to your identity), your device type, OS version, screen dimensions, app version, and timezone. These properties are used to count unique devices and understand the app's device spread — for example, "are most users on iOS 17 or 18?" — not to build a profile of any individual.
We do not call posthog.identify() or link PostHog events to any account, email, or user-supplied information. The anonymous device identifier resets if you reinstall the app or clear the app's storage.
On iOS 14.5 and later, Apple requires apps to ask permission before tracking you across other apps and websites. World Soccer Planner does not engage in cross-app tracking and does not use your Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA), so we do not show the ATT prompt. Our analytics are scoped to this app only.
Children
World Soccer Planner is rated 4+ on the App Store and does not contain content inappropriate for any age. Because we do not collect personal information from any users, we do not collect it from children either.
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has somehow submitted personal information through the app, contact us at help@worldsoccerplanner.com and we will address it promptly.
Your rights
Because we don't collect personal data tied to your identity, most traditional data rights (access, correction, deletion of personal data held by us) are not applicable — there's simply nothing to access, correct, or delete on our end.
To delete your on-device data: uninstall the app. All locally stored match preferences and settings are removed with it.
To delete your PostHog analytics data: because PostHog events are linked only to an anonymous device UUID (not your name or email), we cannot look up your specific events by identity. If you wish to request deletion, contact us at help@worldsoccerplanner.com and we will work with PostHog to action the request.
If you're in the EU, UK, or California: We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or build user profiles. If you have a privacy concern, email us at help@worldsoccerplanner.com and we'll respond promptly.
Your match preferences are stored in your device's local storage. On iOS you can access them via device backup. On Android they may be included in a Google One backup depending on your settings. We have no separate mechanism for data export because we hold no data on our servers to export.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if our practices change — for example, if we add a new feature that involves different data handling. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We won't change this policy in ways that reduce your privacy protections without giving reasonable notice. For significant changes, we'll display a notice in the app.
